Am I Ready For Cisco INCD1 Exam?
Monday 25 January 2010 @ 1:14 am

I just finished my CCNA Exploration 1 & 2 class and got 84% on the final for Networking Fundamentals and 96% for the Routing and Switching final. Given how well I’ve done in my class I kind of want to just go in straight away and take the ICND1 exam, but I’m not sure if everything I learned in the class is enough.

So basically what I’m asking for those of you who have experience with CCNA is, considering my grades do you guys think this is enough preparation to pass the certification exam?

The best way to judge how ready you are, I find, is to read through the exam syllabus and make sure you’re familiar with everything it lists. For that exam, see here:

Make sure you’re strong on subnetting, cabling types, etc. You likely won’t need more than very basic routing/switching knowledge, since it looks like RIPv2 is the only fair-game routing protocol there, and there’s no mention of VTP, spanning tree, etc. Those are more for the ICND2 exam.
