Firewall Issues/Connection Issues?
Tuesday 2 March 2010 @ 12:25 am

I have a Compaq computer with Windows XP. Here is my issue. I can’t get my firewall to turn on. So is it possible therefor my computer will not connect. I have DSL.

*When I go to repair connection it says – Windows couldnt not finish repairing this problem because the following action could not be taken. Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. – Call the person who manages your network.

*Firewall errors – We’re sorry. The Security Center could not turn on windows firewall. Try turing it on yourself through control panel.

I go to Control Panel.

Next error * Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated services in not running. Do you want to start windows firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ISC) servce?
I hit yes……
Error – * WIndows cannot start the windows Firewall Connection Service (ISC) service. Then I hit OK.

Help Please!!

If you have Spybot Search&Destroy, update it and check for problems. SS&D keeps detecting Microsoft. WindowsSecurityCenter. Firewall/Antivirus Disable Notify on my computer. I think you are having the same problem. If you don’t have this software, go to http://www.spybot.info/ and go to download link and download SS&D 1.4 . Scan every time on startup. Don’t be surprised…. If this doesn’t help, do a system restore. ..
